Name: Martijn Rijerse
DOB: February 17, 1974
Bio: Martijn graduated may 2001 at the Technical University Delft, faculty of Architecture, with honourable mention. During his studies, in 1996, he competed in sand for the first time with a group of college friends at Scheveningen beach. Since then he has been working and competing in sand for fun, and after graduating has been working as a full time sculptor in sand, ice and concrete. This work consists of participating in big scale events, competitions, demonstrations and small scale sculptures for example shoppingcentres. Martijn has gone on to participate in events in Holland, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, France, Portugal, Spain, The United States, Canada, China, Russia, Georgien, England, Thailand, Australia.
